With the start of Reggae Month 2025 days away Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, is set to reveal the exciting plans and events scheduled for the month long celebration on January 28 during a presentation in the House of Representatives.
In a release sent to IRIE FM Minister Grange noted that Jamaica’s Reggae Month celebration has become renowned as the world’s only month-long celebration of the genre.
Observed under the theme Come Ketch Di Riddim Reggae Month 2025 will feature a range of events including public concerts, panel discussions and other cultural showcases which highlight the growth and development of this Jamaican music form.
Minister Grange’s presentation to parliamentarians in the nation, will allow for an exploration of the details of the events which commence of February 1 and run into the first few days of March.
Reggae Month is an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the influence of reggae music on Jamaica’s social, cultural, and economic landscape.
Since its inception in 2008, the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport in partnership with industry stakeholders, have hosted month-long festivities that have become a cornerstone in honouring the genre’s rich history and its impact on global music culture.
