There has been an increase in the number of murders committed so far this year, compared to the corresponding period in 2016.

The police revealed today that 35 Jamaicans had been murdered up to this morning.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch Assistant Commissioner Ealon Powell says the figure is 12 more than the 23 murders committed in the same period last year.

ACP Powell says western parishes are ahead in the number of murders.

Last year one thousand 350 Jamaicans were murdered an eleven percent increase over 2016.

We have been taught to hate ourselves. When statues of white people who rob and kill Black people all over the world are placed on high pedestals in Jamaica the message is, Black lives don’t matter.
